House of Diehl Style Wars Attack NYC
Saturday, November 7: Underground, cut-throat, hand-to-hand combat gets all sartorial on New York City’s ass today as House of Diehl’s Style Wars touches down in the Big Apple. The cutting-edge fashion and performance craze pits designer against designer in a format similar to a rap battle, but with all the decadence of a runway show. Each five-minute lightning round consists of slashing, cutting, ripping, tearing, taping and fighting to win the approval of the celebrity judges, who tonight will include supermodel Jenny Shimizu, stylist Rebecca Weinberg, and model Elettra Rossellini Weidemann. DJ Nancy Wang of LCD Soundsystem & The Juan MacLean will spin the critical background sound. Designer-contestants fight for some fierce prizes, including a spread in Surface Magazine.
